Negotiate my boundary!

[+RAMTV]

Do you want to live on your own and have company at lunch time?

"Negotiate My Boundary!" outlines the importance of considering the social frames and systems in the evolution of designing new, flexible and open forms of residential architecture and shared spaces. The video documents the project by +RAMTV group focused on mass-customization and responsive environments.

This digital animation simulates the design process whereby clients - before buying -can customize their dwellings via digital morphogenetic processes by accessing a web community and interacting with their future neighbors on an online platform called "cluster:blaster".

The functional elements of the dwelling are visualized in diagrams and schematized paths. Virtual avatars move in the digital model of shared spaces, a "region" divided in "clusters", with always more blurred boundaries between interior and exterior areas, between domestic and public space.

The project along with a book (London, AA Publications, 2002) was developed at Architectural Association Design Research Laboratory (M Arch AADRL, 2000-2002).
