Arquitectura à Moda do Porto - Stairs

Building Pictures

Exploring everyday interactions and viewpoints in famous buildings in Porto.

One of the most common architectural elements and connectors - stairs - and its everyday interactions offer a privileged vantage point on Oporto (Portugal) and on its architecture in this live-footage postcard, the second episode in the "Arquitectura à Moda do Porto" series.

The complete video project - ten episodes started in December 2013 - was conceived and produced by Building Pictures, Filipa Figueira and Tiago Vieira to promote the architecture of the most significant buildings of Oporto in the last 20 years. The videos take the viewers on short and delightful tours of the city to beat of music in order to involve a wider and general public.

In this episode, a series of details allows the viewers to perceive in the backdrop some famous projects designed by Eduardo Souto de Moura (Casa das Artes, Casa Manoel Oliveira, Estação de Metro da Trinidade, Torre do Burgo), Sidónio Pardal (Parque da Cidade), Álvaro Siza Vieira (Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto, Museu de Serralves, Bairro da Bouça), Barbosa & Guimarães (Viela do Anjo), Manuel de Solà - Morales (Edifício Transparente), Aires Mateus (Hard Club).
