2012 FW Prada Real Fantasies

OMA AMO

A collision between past and future in a suspended atmosphere.

In the short film produced by OMA AMO to introduce the 2012 Fall Winter collection by Prada, a collision between past and future yields a suspended and surreal atmosphere.

In a flow of animated images, some details are related to the future of a spatial era, like the floating glass box or the images showing Earth seen from space. At the same time, the past is often present in the stylish and antiquated interiors and in the vintage images of future cities and control rooms from undefined spaceships. "Within a dystopian society of machines and jagged geometries - as the authors say - genetically perfected clones roam digital colonies, engrossed in oblique and possibly deviant power dynamics". The surreal set reflects surreal behaviors.

As a further step of the longer collaboration between Prada and OMA AMO, the Real Fantasies film series was developed starting from the 2012 Spring/Summer collection and was conceived as a graphic short movie, introducing animation and music to the lookbooks. Season after season, each film highlights conceptual references of the collection.
